There is something special about growing up in a small town. Growing up in Mt. Vernon, IN, I was taught the tremendous importance of caring for your neighbors, speaking with honesty, and acting with integrity. From a young age, I knew I wanted to serve other people while building a secure future for myself and my future family. After graduating high school, I traveled to the nearby University of Evansville to pursue my dream – even if I wasn’t fully sure what that dream was yet. Majoring in business with a concentration in marketing, I began to explore the possible ways I could use my passion for serving others, utilize my education, and build the foundation of my life.
It turns out, building the foundation of my life required building an actual foundation. After marrying my high school sweetheart Ashley, I found myself knee-deep in the process of building our first home. From the planning to the contractors, the building to the finishing, the negotiating to the closing – I was hooked on the process. I entered the real estate business quickly after my wife and I finished building our first home. Specializing in new construction for several top builders in the area, I started to expand my expertise into mortgage origination, and finally, selling homes. Today, I’m the owner/team leader of the award-winning Burris Realty Group! My work today is the culmination of my small-town values, my dedication to serving others, and my unabashed passion for helping other families build their own foundation – literally and figuratively. To me, real estate isn’t a job – it is a calling. When I’m not helping families find the home of their dreams or sell their current property, I can be found playing basketball with our seven-year-old son or traveling with my wife and friends! |
